Annual 4th of July Celebration

We can’t wait to light up the skies over Roswell again on July 4!

Join us at Roswell Area Park for live music, entertainment, and food trucks. Bring your chairs and blankets to spread out at one of several fireworks viewing areas throughout the park. Fireworks will start at sunset.

Parking will be available at Roswell Area Park, until all lots are full. Staff will be assigning all parking in the park and school lots. Once all spaces are full, the lots and park will be closed to incoming traffic.
ADA/Handicap parking is available at Roswell Area Park, in the Multi-Sport 1 parking area near the concession stand. Available until full.
At 5:00 PM, overflow parking will open at Woodstock Soccer Complex (40 Woodstock Street), Crabapple Center (10700 Crabapple Road), new Crabapple Middle School (10790 Woodstock Road) and Roswell North Elementary (10525 Woodstock Road).
Please note that there will be restricted parking in neighborhoods near Roswell Area Park.
The Rideshare drop-off and pick-up area is at Roswell North Elementary School and Crabapple Center. This lot will be open for drop off even if the lots are full.
Public Safety will be directing traffic when the event is over.

 

Facility Closures

Park Closure

The back area of the park past the Physical Activity Center will close the night of Sunday, July 3. This area will remain closed until the event ends and is cleared.
The walking trail around the back of the park will close at 7:00 AM on the morning of Monday, July 4.

Pool Closure

Pool will close at 3:00 PM on Monday, July 4.

What if I have an emergency at the event?Emergency services will be present and centrally located at the event.

What is not permitted at the July 4th event?

No alcohol
No tailgating allowed in parking areas
No drones
No outside fireworks or sparklers
No dogs
No stakes to anchor tents in fields
No outside grills
No overnight parking
Event rules apply to park and City designated parking lots

Could the event be cancelled?
The event will be held rain or shine. The fireworks may be cancelled in the event of a significant weather emergency or if the Fire Department deems the area too dry due to drought conditions.

Can I bring a tent?Tents are allowed until 8:15 PM. All tents should be removed no later than 8:15 PM to ensure no viewing obstruction of fireworks. No stakes are allowed for tents or tarps.

What entertainment will be at the event?There will be a family-friendly bands performing starting at 6:00 PM on the Crabapple Field. The band will take a break at 7:30 PM and start another set from 8:00 PM to about 9:30 PM. In addition, the main stage audio will be broadcasted to other viewing areas during all announcements. The park has centrally located playgrounds and open fields for play.

What food will be at the event?We will have food trucks at the event: A Little Nauti, Bento Bus, Big House BBQ, Burger 21, Fair on Wheels, Let's Taco Bout It, Meatballerz Pizza, Mrs. Rosa's Latin Kitchen, The Pickle, Frozen Sweets, King of Pops, Snowie Creations, and Kona Ice. The Concession Stand will be open, serving drinks and snacks.

Is the event ADA accessible?Yes, we will have some ADA parking available at the main parking lot near Multi-Sport Field #1, which includes a clear viewing area of the fireworks and ability to hear the band. Available until full.

Can I bring in outside food?Yes, you can bring outside food into the park. No grills are allowed.

Can we bring chairs into the park?Yes, chairs are allowed.

Where is the Rideshare and Drop-Off/Pick-Up areas?The Rideshare drop-off and pick-up area is at Roswell North Elementary School or Crabapple Center. These lots will be open for drop off even if the lots are full.

What is the best place to view the fireworks from inside the park?The best viewing areas are Crabapple Field, Multi-Sport Field 1, Multi-Sport Field 2, Roswell Area Park Field 3 (baseball field) and portions of the Roswell North field. Viewing areas and obstructed viewing areas will both be indicated on the park fields.

Will I be able to use the trail during the event?Portions of the trail will be closed due to safety.

If I live in a nearby neighborhood, what information do I need to know?All residents, within one mile of the park, will be sent an official letter discussing the crowd anticipation, emergency access plans, and general event impact.
