Hua Yuan: AAPI Artists in Bloom

Hua Yuan translates to “flower garden” in Mandarin Chinese; the theme is AAPI artists’ interpretation of change, growth, and nature.

Pieces for the exhibit were selected by Karina Teichert and Corinne Sutherlin.

Karina Teichert – Art Curator
Karina Teichert is a graduate of Georgia Tech’s School of Literature, Media, and Communication with 3 years of experience in art curation for both private and non-profit galleries. Karina’s most recent exhibition, “Year of the Rabbit”, was a similar celebration of the AAPI arts community in Atlanta, and was hosted by the Bakery Atlanta. They are particularly passionate about making art as accessible as possible to underserved and marginalized communities.

Corinne Sutherlin – Roswell Cultural Arts Supervisor
Corinne Sutherlin is currently the Cultural Arts Supervisor II for the City of Roswell. Ms. Sutherlin has over 8 years of experience serving the City of Roswell and its community. Since 2018, Corinne has been a liaison and programmer for the Roswell Roots festival and National Arts and Humanities Month programs. Currently, Corinne is a visual art curator for City Hall, Roswell Cultural Arts Center, and various city facilities.

This exhibit is made possible by the City of Roswell Arts and Culture Division within the Recreation, Parks, Historic and Cultural Affairs Department and is part of the Visual Spotlight Series at the Roswell Cultural Arts Center.
