Smith & Calvert is a dynamic musical duo that blends bluegrass, Americana, and southern rock into a unique and captivating sound. Their performance promises wonderful songs and soaring harmonies that are sure to leave you thoroughly entertained.
During the downtime of the pandemic, Leah Calvert and Michael Smith, the lead writers and voices of the popular bluegrass band, the Dappled Grays, took the opportunity to create an entire new catalog of music. The result is a musical experience that leans more towards the Bonnie Raitt and Mark Knopfler side of the spectrum while still retaining the bluegrass influences that have consistently defined their sound.
The band also includes talented musicians like Chris Burroughs on drums, Luca Lombardi on bass, and Ian Newberry on electric guitar, adding depth and energy to their live performance.
Michael Smith’s musical background includes playing with renowned artists such as Sugarland, John McEuen (of the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band), and the legendary bluegrass fiddler Bobby Hicks. He also spent a decade sharing the stage with Lauren Morrow as a member of the Whiskey Gentry.
Leah Calvert is a highly regarded Atlanta singer, fiddler, and violinist in her own right. Apart from her work with Smith & Calvert, she collaborates with John Driscoll Hopkins (of the Zac Brown Band) and has an extensive recording history with Kristian Bush (of Sugarland).
Don’t miss this opportunity to enjoy a fantastic evening of live music with Smith & Calvert. Bring your friends and immerse yourself in a musical journey that blends the best of bluegrass, Americana, and southern rock.
