Garden Lecture Series: Fall Bulbs Equals Spring Flowers

Garden Lecture Series: Fall Bulbs Equals Spring Flowers

Presented by Roswell's Historic House Museums and City of Roswell, Georgia and North Fulton Master Gardeners, Inc. at Barrington Hall

Does your spring garden need a facelift? Does your spring garden need a burst of color to help turn around a long, drab winter? There is a solution! Plant Fall bulbs, relax for several winter weeks, and as the sun begins to warm the air and ground, begin to enjoy your newly planted Spring blooming bulbs. Join Master Gardener, Carole MacMullan, for a presentation on Fall bulbs. She will discuss how to select the top-performing bulbs for Georgia gardens, how to prepare the soil to guarantee the bulbs you plant will return year after year, and how to quickly and efficiently plant a bag of 25 or more bulbs. By investing your time in planting fall bulbs, you will be richly rewarded next spring and for many years to come.

Lectures in this Series

Purpose

The purpose of the lecture series is to encourage enthusiasm and awareness of our natural environment, gardening, native plants, and the broader role of trees within our landscape development. Within the past couple of years, the City of Roswell has introduced priorities recognizing the importance and role of native plants within our city landscape, tree canopies, and green spaces. In collaboration with North Fulton Master Gardeners, three public lectures in October will explore specific topics for the beginning gardener as well as the enthusiast. Expert gardeners will discuss how to incorporate native plants into your own garden, prepare bulbs for a spring garden, and the role and value of trees within overall landscape design. Participants will enjoy both informative conversations as well as practical steps to activate from knowledgeable and established gardeners.
