Women's Conference - Well-Watered Woman

Presented by Zion Missionary Baptist Church at Zion Missionary Baptist Church

Our world emerged from water (Genesis 1:9). Water is vital for human life; our bodies need water.  If we don’t stay hydrated, we die. Water is so critical to our existence that it has become a symbol for life itself.

Jesus told the Samaritan woman that he had water that would take away her thirst forever; a water that would fill her so full of him that all her needs would be met, all her wants satisfied, and her thirsts fulfilled. The water of life that Jesus spoke of is a symbol for spiritual washing and refreshment, which this woman needed more than she needed the water that she drew from the well each day. Jesus offered “Living Water,” a perpetually satisfying refreshment of her deepest needs.

Gretchen Saffles in her book, “Well-Watered Woman”, declares that “I am well-watered because Jesus, the living water, satisfies my soul’s thirst forever.  Living “well-watered” begins and ends with knowing Jesus. The well-watered life is fueled by faithfulness to Jesus, and this manifests itself in our actions and obedience. The Well-Watered Woman knows who Jesus is, and who He is changes everything about her past, present, and future…Well-Watered Women live a life on mission for God.”

■        Are you a “Dried Up Woman” or a “Well-Watered Woman”?

■        Have you decided that you are at the end of your own self-sufficiency?

■        If the gospel has taken root in your life, is your Well sufficiently watering your gardens to produce a bountiful harvest?

■        Are you ready to replace the time spent drinking from empty wells with the Well that never runs dry?

■        Are you withering from dehydration?

■        Have you asked God to cultivate a well-watered life in you?

Whatever your response to the above questions, know that God is the source, the fountain, of living water.  Jesus Christ, the Son of God, is the giver of living water.  No matter your current “state of hydration,” the 2023 ZMBC Women’s Conference Weekend is your opportunity to refill, repair and replenish your cisterns with Living Water.
