Roswell Photographic Society Monthly Meeting

Roswell Photographic Society Monthly Meeting

Presented by Roswell Photographic Society at Roswell Adult Recreation Center

Monthly meetings are a fun and educational forum to share members' photographic interests and experiences and are open to members and visitors.

This meeting features our guest speaker, Marvin Price, who will share experience and tips on how to successfully take photos of the sun and other planets. These tips might come in handy in early April 2024 when the next solar eclipse traverses North Georgia. According to the Augusta Chronicle, "Residents in and north of Atlanta will experience about an 80% partial eclipse, while the rest of Georgians could see about 67-78%."

On April 8, 2024 the last solar eclipse to cross the USA for the next 20 years will occur. Marvin's presentation will help prepare you for this and other astrological events, such as the skills needed to photograph lunar and solar eclipses also are needed to photograph the Milky Way and other subjects at night. Meeting will include discussion on the equipment needed and where to find them.

The Roswell Photographic Society is one of the most active photography clubs in metro Atlanta, offering educational speakers, critiques, workshops, field trips, and gallery space in seven venues to display your images. Members range from photographic beginners to working professionals.

Visitors are welcome to the monthly meetings. However, an annual membership of $40.00 provides the opportunity to submit photos for bi-monthly photo reviews, participate in exhibits, and attend field trips. Please join us as a visitor, and we encourage you to join as a member.
